Review Cadillac CTS-V: Third Generation Power Machine

Cadillac launched its V series to cash in on its new found brand appeal. The 2015 Cadillac CTS-V is the third generation high performance sedan which is meant to be powerful, menacing, and brilliant. It is packed with Cadillac’s custom features, redesigned exoteric and more power. Set to clash with Merc E63 AMG and BMW M5, and Jaguar XF-R, it is only left to time to reveal the boss in this segment. Let’s review Cadillac CTS-V for what it has to offer.

The third generation CTS-V sedan has taken a giant leap from its predecessors, and if you thought the second generation got your blood racing, then this one with its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and a claim of a top whack of 200 mph will surely make your jaw drop to the ground. The new model is available only as a two door sedan as of now and is expected to be joined by its wagon later.

Under its jagged mantle it houses the supercharged 6.2 litre direct injection V8 which has undergone massive revamping and now claims an output of 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, which is eye popping and clearly throws out its competitors from the scene. It dashes from 0-60 mph in a measly 3.7 seconds which is fantastic and the top speed claim of 200 mph is truly astounding. It is paired with general motor’s Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight speed automatic transmission which will provide it with quick and agile reflexes and improved efficiency. The wheel base is same but with wider front and rear tracks, stiffer wheels and specially designed rubber which has superior grip, the ride quality is greatly improved with a prolonged tire life. The Outside and The Inside

The new CTS-V retains the basic style of its previous brother, but does get some redesigning done to give it more class. The rear roofline, the front grills, the bumper, and the side profile all are soother and edges cleaner. The LED lamps in the front are trimmed, grill is narrower with new chrome mesh and the front gets a meaner look with more of air intakes. From the side the car looks lower due to its amended side skirts, wider fenders, and new side vents.

The interior is as luxurious as it gets. It matches performance with class. The inside is a blend of rich leather, mix material, and carbon fibre. The front seats have good support and ample legroom and the backseat’s entry and exit is improved but space is a little less. The seats are adjustable and have power adjustments with alteration options for headrest and back cushions.

The contraptions include a 12.3 inch instrument panel powered with Cadillac’s standard CUE infotainment, Bose sound system, WI-FI hotspot, Siri Eyes Free, USB ports, mobile charging, and Performance Data Recorder.

As per review Cadillac CTS-V, the overall interior is a bit conventional but well designed and neatly packed and admirable.

The shortcomings are less headroom in back seats, small trunk space, and left hand drive. It is thirsty for fuel and a struggle to find dealers.

The mix and match of power and style will make it truly desirable in the market and is sure to give a tough fight for its place.
