Review Cadillac Escalade 4 – The Accomplished Giant

Escalade from the time it was launched was not meant for everybody or anybody. It still is not meant for all. It is for those chosen few who want everything, and want to tower over others on the road from above. When you review Cadillac Escalade 4, you find that this new generation Cadillac Escalade is a giant. It was actually massive before and it just went bigger.

It is the actual powertrain of the Cadillac’s line up of cars. Escalade is synonymous with bold, brash, large size, and power. The new model takes that all and moved it up a notch. It is coming with a huge makeover, especially the interiors.

Flamboyant Innards – Review Cadillac Escalade 4

On a fleeting look it looks the same as before but when you look closer, it tells an entirely different story, especially the insides. Gone are the fake wood and cheap plastics of previous versions. The inside is now draped in leather, refined suede, and good quality wood. Assembly is neat and it is done away with the panel gaps and the loose parts. The seats are plush and well cushioned to soak up the bumps.

The hi-tech platinum trimmings look sophisticated, and also the central console. The Caddy standard CUE infotainment, the chrome and piano black touch pads, heat and cool controls on seats, refrigerator and all other widgets unique to Caddy style are there.

According to Review Cadillac Escalade 4, it is an epiphany as compared to older models but still has a long way to go when compared with some of its luxurious competitors. The CUE infotainment is a bit messy and sometimes slow too.

Also the front seats are pushed way back, thus leaving just enough space for the back seaters and in spite of all its bulk it does not look that massive inside.

Engine and Mileage

As is Escalade style, it is powered with 6.2-liter V8, with six speed automatic transmission and the pair works well. It provides 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque which pulls this beast quite effortlessly from 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds. This is definitely not a sporty vehicle, especially tackling the curves but is extremely brisk and responsive and is a pleasure to drive. It is also more reticent, tranquil and still flattens the road beneath you.

However, as per Review Cadillac Escalade 4, not much has changed in fuel economy though. It is still a fuel gulping giant and is not the most economical vehicle.

The Swallowing Size

It has growth badder and bigger by 1.5 inches in width and 1.4 inches in length than the previous model. And if you opt for the longer ESV, there is 14 inches more. It has sheer presence with the edgy sharp lines, and massive grill in front. Escalade screams its size and does not hide behind the smooth lines and curves. There are some fine touches too, like the LED assemblage at the rear that rise up to the roof to illuminate its badge, and LED in the door handles. Rest of the exterior has been left alone for its unique stamp.

Review Cadillac Escalade 4 for its entire bulky and brash exterior and you will be amazed that it still emanates luxury and style. Its brash statement may not appeal to all but then it is not meant for all. It has its own private class of fans and they will not be disappointed with this new brand of Escalade.
