Review Chevrolet Tahoe 4 – The Hulking SUV

The redesigned Chevrolet Tahoe has V8 engine with 6 speed transmission available in three choices that packs 355 bhp, and has gone smoother and quieter. It has a stronger appearance with angular styling and richer interiors.

to know that it is a truck sized SUV with boat hauling strength. In the section of affordable SUV’s currently available in the market, it is ranked quite high due to its smooth ride, upgraded cabin, powerful acceleration, and fuel economy. Set to be a family car it may just put off some really interested family with its $45,890 and plus price tag.

Power and Dynamics

It is powered with a 5.3 litre V8 engine which generates 355 horsepower and packs a torque of 383 pound feet. It is available as a two wheel and a four wheel drive and coupled with a six speed smooth shifting automatic transmission. The 0-60 mph numbers for LTZ 4 wheel drive was 7.3 seconds and for a LT 2 wheel drive it was 7.1 seconds. Review Chevrolet Tahoe 4 reveals that the vehicle is quite fuel economical thanks to its direct injection and cylinder deactivation. It will also benefit from the fuel saving electric steering wheel.

It has a standard live-axle suspension, a leaf spring rear, and magnetic ride controls in the LTZ. The vehicle is quite mannered on the road with a smooth drive thanks to the powerful V8 and the 6 speed transmission. The inside of the cabin has gone quieter too as compared to the last version.

When properly configured, it can haul up to 8400 pounds, which is massive.

The Exoteric View

Review Chevrolet Tahoe 4 and you will observe that it looks completely resigned with more expensive look than its predecessors. It has crisp clear lines right from the front fender to the taillights. The clear and crisp right angles in the greenhouse give it an expensive look. There is a lot of focus on the aerodynamics and large air intakes which help boost the fuel mileage of the vehicle. It is colossal with 17 feet long and 6.7 feet wide. It still presents the looks of a classic SUV.

The Intrinsic Looks

The Tahoe has a redesigned interior with a vinyl strapped instrument panel that looks rich, but the wood panelling is a phoney which is a big put off. The front row seats are separated by a wide centre console which has Silverado’s switchgear and easy-to-read analog instruments. The console has a 4.2 inch digital screen between the gauges that shows speed, trip info and is a computer of infotainment functions.

The infotainment system in the LT and LTZ model gets the Chevrolet’s MyLink entertainment system with a larger 8-inch screen and three additional USB ports. The LS models have a CD stereo with 2 USB ports, one SD card slot, and an MP3 jack.

The central console in the front row does not cramp the space and it has good leg room. The second row is comfortable too with ample leg stretching space available. The back seats can recline and fold but do not slide. When you review Chevrolet Tahoe 4, you will come to know that the third row is cramped in leg room; actually the passengers in third row have no legroom at all and sit with their leg pushed up towards the roof. It is only fit for small children.

Safeguarding You

The vehicle received an overall rating of 4 out of 5 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in its crash tests. Its safety features include a forward collision warning system, a lane departure warning, a blind spot warning system, a rear cross-traffic alert, and a GM’s Safety Alert Seat

Chevrolet Tahoe 4 is a good for mileage car and it has up the ante in terms of its interior. Though it is not particularly luxurious but it does have the class feel.
