The Hyundai i30 Turbo is a tepid hatch in the section of small family car. When you review Hyundai i30 Turbo, you realize that the car was not bad to begin with and the new generation version that was launched at the Geneva Auto show has arrived with a good amount of designing twists and trims.

The family hatch will be available as a three door or five door options. There is no elite version now and the grading available is SR, Premium, SR Premium, Active, and Active X.

Review Hyundai i30 Turbo – How does it look like on the outside?

Well, it is sober and quiet. There is nothing loud about this car. The front has the same nose shaped bonnet with a larger hexagonal grill. The enlarged grill has chrome bars and the badge is sitting right on top of the grill. It is flanked on both sides with elongated horizontally places LED panels and another set of bat wing shaped LED lights sits right on top of the hood. A hint of red right under the bumper in form of a pinstripe makes things interesting. On the side panels the 18 inch alloy wheels have become interesting with new alloy designs. The rear of the car has hints of red in the LED panels which looks good. The car now sports two circular exhaust vents. The Inside Story

This is where things are really interesting. The complete inside has whisperings of red, whether it be the seats, dashboard, clutch, or the dials. The seats have a dash of leather with red clues and are sporty.  It does have some cheap plastic inside but it looks okay in shades of black and grey and are fitted well. The dashboard flaunts a new touchscreen which has a lot of gadgetry. Hyundai has packed the new i30 Turbo with a lot of toys. Some of the items on the list include Pandora app which can connect radio, sat-nav, audio, and Bluetooth. There is a reverse view camera harmonized by rear parking sensors. The best thing is that the instrument panel is well marked and quite comfortable to operate.

With this i30 Turbo, the practicality of the automotive has increased with enhanced space. There is enough head and leg room for an average adult; though an oversized American individual will find it cramped. The boot space is one of the largest in this segment at 378 litres.

The Engine Upgrades

The base line active is powered by 1.6 litre petrol which bells out 100 KW of power at a torque of 300Nm. It is paired with a seven speed dual transmission. The higher Active X has enough under its belly to impress an average driver at 107 KW with a torque of 175Nm. The sprint from 0-60 mph takes 8 secs and the top speed claim is at 136 mph. The steering is having three adjustments: the normal, comfort, and sport. But it is not very responsive and pliable and while in sports mode it shows resistance. When you review Hyundai i30 Turbo, you come to know that it has an improved suspension which means an exceptional composure over pits and bumps.

Hyundai i30 Turbo, being good in most of the segments, it falls short of being exceptional in any one. It will be the car of choice for many family men but will not enthral those who want more than just a day to day family car.
